About
Bunbury Cathedral Grammar School was founded in 1972 to establish an outstanding centre of education based on excellence in teaching and learning, and Christian values. These fundamental values remain unchanged with pastoral care and breadth of education being at the core of the exceptional commitment of the parents, students and staff who are proud to call BCGS their own.
Nestled in an expanse of bushland 10km south of Bunbury, in the spirit of our south-west's pioneers the School's early playing fields were carved out by the students, staff and families. With plenty of surrounding space, BCGS's unique co-educational boarding facilities are styled as homely cottage-style accommodation and lifelong friendships naturally develop with clear guidelines.
The peace of the leafy campus belies the activity of the thriving school community. In the Early Childhood Centre our enquiry based approach to the education of girls and boys creates a vibrant and creative atmosphere in spacious rooms. A leader in the field, our Primary school offers young minds a contemporary and innovative learning approach whilst our Secondary school defines the individual, focusing on academic and personal strengths. At the heart of the campus is the rammed earth Chapel of St Francis and St Clare which is a stunning symbol of the School's Christian values and also a place of worship for the local Anglican community.
